MAYO’S Mescan Brewery has been selected as one of eight Irish beers invited to take part in the prestigious Fidelity Beer Festival to be held at the Mansion House, Dublin on July 15-16.
This unusual festival showcases the best international craft beers alongside the finest Irish beers. Many foreign beers are entirely new to the Irish market.
As with previous Fidelity Festivals, the event is fully booked.
“It’s a real honor for Mescan and we couldn’t be happier,” said Cillian O Móráin of Mescan Brewery. “It gives us the opportunity to present our beers alongside the best in the world at a selected festival. We look forward to both the experience and the challenge.
Based in Kilsallagh, Westport, Mescan Brewery specializes in high quality Belgian style beers matured for months (sometimes years) before reaching perfection. They are vegan and 100% natural.
The craft brewery is named after Mescan, a monk who was St. Patrick’s personal brewer.
Mescan beers go particularly well with drinking in restaurants and the new trend of pairing beers and food is experiencing a revival of activity among restaurateurs.
Mescan recently reopened after the pandemic-enforced hiatus. Tours take place every Friday afternoon during the summer and occasionally on Saturdays. The reservation is made via the website https://www.brasseriemescan.com/. Extended private tours for groups of 10 or more are also available upon request.
