khajuraho: Madhya Pradesh: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visits Khajuraho for inspections | Bhopal News

BHOPAL: Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw traveled on National Highway/Khajuraho-Jhansi Highway on Saturday.
He is on a two-day visit to the region. He also inspected works done under Pradhan Mantri Gram Yojana in Bundelkhand region and interacted with beneficiaries.
The Minister gave an update on ongoing development projects in the region at the Maharaja Chhatrasal Convention Center, where collector Chhatarpur gave a power point presentation.
In this meeting, Minister/Government of Social Justice and Empowerment of India Virendra Kumar, MP Khajuraho, Vishnu Dutt Sharma, MP Sidhi, . Riti Pathak, Minister in Charge of Chhatarpur, OP Saklecha, Minerals Minister Brijendra Pratap Singh, MLA Bada Malhara, Pradyumna Singh Lodhi, MLA Chandla, Rajesh Prajapati, Organization Minister Lalita Yadav, BJP District Chairman Malkhan Singh, Secretary General Chhatarpur Arvind Pateria participated among other public representative bodies.
Vaishnaw, together with railway and district officials, discussed the steps to be taken for the development of this area.
On the request to operate a Vande Bharat express for Khajuraho, Vaishnaw said it will be introduced once the electrification works are completed.
He also informed that rake points have been approved in Chhatarpur and Khajuraho, fulfilling a long-standing request from local traders. Along with this, the minister informed that train tickets can be obtained from 45,000 post offices currently and the vision is to integrate 2 lakh post offices with train ticketing facilities.
On the issue of the special tourist train for Khajuraho, the Minister briefed on the operation of the Bharat Gaurav trains and the positive response received by the Ramayana Express, the first Bharat Gaurav train.
Vaishnaw said government officials should develop the attitude of serving the oppressed and striving for the betterment of society.
The Minister of Railways also discussed the planning for the redevelopment of Khajuraho Railway Station.
The minister, along with the local administration and the railways, encouraged farmers to install solar power plants on their land so that their income could increase.
The One Station One Product Scheme is also being extended so that products at the local level are made available to market through the stations. After the ongoing pilot project, which has been a huge success, 1000 stations will be included in this program, in which Chhatarpur station will also be included.
The Minister also met with Padma Shri Award Laureate Dr. AK Jadia and Vice Chancellor/Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundelkhand University, TRThapak. Speaking to the press, he briefed on the development works of the Bundelkhand region. Apart from that, he also discussed the development of the area with the tour guides and hotel association members.
On this occasion, GM/NCR Pramod Kumar, GM/WCR Sudhir Kumar Gupta, DRM/Jhansi Shri Ashutosh along with District Collector Sandeep, Superintendent of Police and other Railway and District Officers were present.
The Minister then carried out a window inspection of the Khajuraho-Lalitpur section to review the progress of the electrification works.
