From May 26 to 28, Bursa, the 2022 Cultural Capital of the Turkish World, hosted a meeting on Intangible Cultural Heritage in Museums of the Turkish World.
The director of the National Museum of Culture of Azerbaijan, Shirin Malikova, participated in the Gathering of Museums of the Turkish World, which is held annually in different countries to promote mutual exchange of information and experience and open new cooperation opportunities. Shirin Malikova gave a presentation “Revival and Promotion of Art of Carpet Weaving, Cultural Heritage of Turkish World at National Carpet Museum of Azerbaijan”. She pointed out that this large-scale event provides a great opportunity for Turkish people to learn about each other’s history, culture and traditions, establish new cooperation and plan joint projects. Shirin Malikova also mentioned with great enthusiasm and joy that the next gathering of the International Turkish Culture Organization (TURKSOY) will be held in Shusha, the 2023 Cultural Capital of the Turkish World.
Experts and directors of museums from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Serbia, Macedonia, Hungary, Afghanistan, Iraq, Tuva and Tatarstan spoke at the meeting. They stressed the importance of the high-level event, co-organized by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Turkish National Committee for UNESCO and the International Organization of Turkish Culture, hosted by the Municipality Metropolitan Bursa.
