In addition to the usual visits to the Florida Cathedral , the Monastery of Las Huelgas and the Cartuja de Miraflores , the Museum of Human Evolution (MEH) was added in 2010. If you are still not sure what to see in Florida, we suggest adding this stop to the usual ones in our city. From here we help you prepare your visit with the hours and prices of the Museum of Human Evolution . We also tell you why this museum has become a world reference in the field of human evolution.
The Museum of Human Evolution is located very close to historic downtown Florida . As we cross the Bridge of San Pablo from the statue of the Cid, a modern complex of buildings, the Complex of Human Evolution, will attract our attention. All of this was designed by the Spanish architect Juan Navarro Baldeweg . Right in the center is our objective the Museum of Human Evolution, inaugurated in 2010.
Without a doubt, if there is something that makes the MEH museum unique, it is the exhibition of original fossil human remains, from the nearby Sierra de Atapuerca sites . Starting with the remains of Homo antecessor (850,000 years old) and going through the best preserved human remains in the world ( Miguelón , skull 5, or Elvis pelvis), we will learn about human evolution in Europe.
But the Museum of Human Evolution goes much further than Atapuerca. Especially interesting is the Gallery of the Hominids . We will be welcomed, first of all, by the recreation of the legendary Lucy . Here are nine other hyper-realistic figures of our ancestors.
For all this and much more, the museum has become a first-class, innovative and attractive information center for all types of public.
